Sarah Palin Is A Little Girl

… at least that is how John McCain and his camp are treating her. It’s been 8 days since she was announced as his running mate, and there hasn’t been a single press conference - and his side has just confirmed why.

If she goes out and makes a mistake, that is something that (voters will) care about, and that’s something that will haunt (McCain) for awhile, so I think this is a smart move.

Fascinating, McCain — who previously said the most important thing about a VP is his/her ability to be President — picked a running mate who has so little clue what’s going on in the world that he needs to hide her.

What Does The Vice President Do?

Don’t ask John McCain’s VP pick Sarah Palin, she doesn’t know either:

“As for that V.P. talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the V.P. does every day?”

Surprising she doesn’t know the job, considering her vast wealth of experience. Before becoming Governor for a year and a half of the 4th smallest state in the Union — where she’s already is facing ethics violations — she was part-time mayor of the major city of Wasil Alaskala , a major metropolis with its 5,470 residents making decisions that have affected upwards of a dozen people’s lives.

But she is a woman. As Chuck Todd said:

They really wanted to pick a woman, and there were no obvious choices.

Now that’s sound judgement, being able to find a Republican who’s also a woman who’s also has the vast wealth of experience his campaign is being run on — like a small town mayor recently turned (corrupt) Governor of the influential state of Alaska.

At least she’ll rally her base, being to the Right Jerry Falwell and all. It’s great to have someone running for this office that disregards science and wants creationism — the idea that God put humans on the earth 2,000 years ago and evolution is a myth — taught in public schools.

But, maybe this isn’t for short-term dividends, maybe this will pay off down the road.

Lets see what fellow Repubican Joe Scarborough has to say:

I can’t imagine a woman that’s been a governor for a year and a half, but to debate Joe Biden on Georgia, a remerging Russia, an emerging China and India, on the Middle East, my God, how does she do that?

That should go over well. While Biden talks about staring dictators down, Palin can relate her experiences, like maybe she helped Eskimo Joe rebuild his Igloo or something.

At least the trainwreck this is sure to become will keep McCain in the headlines.

A: I think — I’ll have my staff get to you It’s condominiums where — I’ll have them get to you.

Obama’s staff — in lighting fashion — put out their first true negative attack over the gaffe.

Then again, that same day when asked how many houses he owns, McCain lost track.

Well, it’s seven. Seven houses. And here’s one house America can’t afford to let John McCain move in to.

And If You Thought Lying About Recipes Was Bad…

After having been caught, not once, but twice lying about cooking recipes, Cindy McCain and John McCain’s staff have been caught lying once again.

This time, lying about being an only child and meeting Mother Teresa.

The latest embellishments come from the McCain camp. Cindy McCain has repeatedly referred to herself as an “only child.” This week came news that she actually has two half sisters, although apparently she had very little contact with them.

The McCain campaign had also put out the story that Mother Teresa “convinced” Cindy to bring home two orphans from Bangladesh in 1991.

Mrs. McCain, it turns out, never met Mother Teresa on that trip. (Once contacted by the Monitor, the campaign revised the story on its website.)

McCain Sinks To New Low - Sells Soul

Mere months after after promising a clean campaign focused on issues, John McCain leads with the first swift boat type ad of the season. The GOP’s presumptuous nominee’s ad, called “Troops”, accuses his rival, Barack Obama, of the debunked claim that he dissed wounded troops because of lack of cameras.

Obama, who has previously visited wounded troops without reporters or cameras at Walter Reed in late June and in Iraq this past week, had planned on this stop also being free of press and cameras. The Pentagon had originally approved the stop on July 15th before sending conflicting information to the Obama staff the day before the scheduled stop - which is what caused the cancellation.

How can we possibly find honor in using the fate of our servicemen to score political advantage in Washington? There is no pride to be had in such efforts. McCain, by his own description, has no pride. Now it’s clear, he has no soul either.
